The Vision

A change, a difference we can make…

You have been very fortunate, read this and perhaps you might be inspired to make a difference.

My Story

My name is Nirosha and I live in a town called Lunuvila in Wennapura. I am 31 years. I have three sons. My husband, a factory worker and mother live with me. I work in an Apparel Company.

From my young days, I always enjoyed doing social work, making a difference in the society. By the age of 12 years, I got involved with various community service projects both within the government and non government sectors. All the projects were related with women and children going through hard times in life. I have a special calling to work with orphaned children, abused and single mothers, widowers.

My dream is to uplift these marginalized persons, give them hope and a new leash of life through a institute or ‘home’ that will take care of them. A place where mothers like me can go to work whilst having their children looked after. The parents themselves will look after the children. I believe we might need a large amount of money to commence this project. I seek your help in making this a reality through the following ways;
  • Ideas on how we should get about this project
  • Legal side of the project
  • Rule and framework on how to run such a place
I would like this to be a ‘Maha Gedara’ which when translated from Sinhalese to English would mean, the house where we grow up. I earnestly seek your help and ideas. It may take some time but at least we are trying.

Yours,

Nirosha
